From event programs and product catalogues to manuals, menus and annual reports, a booklet gives you room to tell the whole story. We print and bind booklets in-house at our Marrickville shop, so the colour, the trim and the binding are all under one roof — and your job stays on schedule.

Binding options

Most short-run booklets are saddle-stitched — folded sheets stapled through the spine. It is neat, economical and perfect up to around 48 pages. For thicker booklets, or when you want a flat printed spine, we offer perfect binding, where the pages are glued into a wrap-around cover.

Sizes and page counts

We print A4, A5, DL and square booklets, plus custom sizes. Because saddle-stitched booklets are made from folded sheets, the total page count needs to be a multiple of four (8, 12, 16, 20 and so on). If your content does not divide neatly, we will help you add a filler page or adjust the layout.

Covers and stock

Choose a self-cover for a lighter, economical booklet, or a heavier plus-cover with a laminate for a more premium, durable finish.

Setting up your artwork

Supply your pages as single pages in reading order — we handle the imposition. Add 3mm bleed, use CMYK, and we will check everything for free before we print.

Frequently asked questions

What are the common booklet sizes?

A5 (148×210mm) is the most popular, followed by A4 for catalogues and reports and DL for slimline programs. Square booklets give a modern, premium feel. We also cut custom sizes.

How many pages can a booklet have, and why multiples of four?

Saddle-stitched booklets are made from sheets folded in half, and each folded sheet gives four pages — so the total needs to be a multiple of four (8, 12, 16, 20 and so on). If your content does not divide neatly, we will help you add a page or adjust the layout.

Should I choose saddle-stitch or perfect binding?

Saddle-stitch (stapled through the spine) is neat and economical, and ideal up to around 48 pages. Perfect binding glues the pages into a wrap-around cover and gives you a flat printed spine — better for thicker or more premium booklets.

How do I set up artwork for a booklet?

Supply your pages as single pages in reading order (not printer spreads) with 3mm bleed and in CMYK. We take care of the imposition so everything prints and folds in order, and we check it all for free first.

Can I bring my own paper?

Generally we supply the stock, which lets us guarantee the colour, weight and finish across the whole run. If you have a specific stock in mind, let us know and we will do our best to match or source it.

What is the difference between a booklet and a book?

It comes down to page count and binding. Booklets are shorter, stapled or lightly bound pieces, while books are thicker and usually perfect or case bound. We specialise in short-run booklets and can advise if your project is heading into book territory.

How much does it cost to print booklets?

It depends on the page count, size, stock, binding and quantity. Send us the specs and we will reply with an exact quote, usually the same business day.

Is it cheaper than a copy shop like Officeworks?

For a quick single copy, a walk-in copy shop can be convenient. For any real quantity, or when colour, stock and binding matter, a local printer gives you better quality and advice for the money — and we will happily quote so you can compare.
