Well-made brochures do a lot of quiet work — they sit on a counter, get handed out at an expo, or land in a letterbox and give someone everything they need to know at a glance. We print brochures for businesses right across the Inner West and greater Sydney, from a single tri-fold for a café menu to full print runs for a product range.

Everything is produced in-house at our Marrickville shop, so we control the colour, the stock and the fold — and we can turn selected jobs around same-day.

Fold options we print

The fold you choose shapes how your content reads. The most common are:

  • Bi-fold — one fold, four panels. Simple and premium; good for menus and short pitches.
  • Tri-fold (letter fold) — the classic three-panel brochure that fits a DL envelope.
  • Z-fold — zig-zag panels that open out flat; great for step-by-step content.
  • Gate and French folds — for a bit of theatre, or delicate designs and maps.

Not sure which suits your content? Tell us roughly how much you need to fit and we’ll recommend the right fold.

Stock, finish and sizes

We print on 150gsm to 350gsm gloss, matt and silk stocks, single or double-sided in full colour. Add a matt or gloss celloglaze, soft-touch laminate or spot UV to lift the finish. Common sizes are A4 folded to DL, A5, A6 and DL — but we’ll cut to a custom size if you need one.

What makes a good brochure

A brochure that works usually has five things: a cover that earns a second look, a clear hook, easy-to-scan body panels, a bit of proof (reviews, credentials or examples), and one obvious next step with your contact details. Keep the important stuff away from the folds and the trim, and you’re most of the way there.

Sending your artwork

Supply a print-ready PDF with 3mm bleed, in CMYK, at 300dpi, with fonts outlined. If your file isn’t quite there, upload what you have — we do a free artwork check on every job before we print, and our designers can set the whole thing up if you’d prefer.

Frequently asked questions

What size is best for a brochure?

An A4 sheet tri-folded down to DL (99×210mm) is the most popular — it holds plenty of information and fits a standard envelope. A5 works well for a shorter, more compact handout. If you are not sure, tell us how much content you need to fit and we will recommend a size and fold.

Is a brochure A4?

Often, yes — many brochures start as an A4 sheet and are folded down to DL. But A5, A6 and custom sizes are all common. The right size depends on how much you need to say and how it will be handed out or displayed.

How many pages should a brochure have?

A folded brochure is measured in panels, not pages — a tri-fold gives you six panels (three each side). If you need a booklet-style brochure that is bound, the page count needs to be a multiple of four. We are happy to help you work out the best layout.

What are the five parts of a brochure? What should it include?

A brochure that converts usually has a strong cover, a clear headline or hook, easy-to-scan body content, some proof (reviews, credentials or examples), and one obvious call to action with your contact details. Keep key text away from the folds and trim.

What is the difference between a brochure and a pamphlet?

In everyday use they overlap. A brochure is usually a folded, more designed marketing piece on heavier stock, while a pamphlet or leaflet tends to be a simpler single-sheet or lightly folded handout. Whatever you call it, we can print it.

Can I print brochures on regular paper?

You can, but coated brochure stock holds colour better, feels more professional and folds cleanly with a machine score. For anything customer-facing, we recommend a proper brochure stock — it makes a real difference to how your brand is perceived.

What format should I send my artwork in?

A print-ready PDF is ideal: 3mm bleed on all sides, CMYK colour, images at 300dpi, and fonts outlined or embedded. Not print-ready? Send what you have and we will check it for free, or set it up for you.

How do I fold a tri-fold (3-fold) brochure?

The two outer panels fold in over the middle, so the panel that tucks inside is made a couple of millimetres narrower to avoid buckling. You do not need to worry about the maths — we score and fold every brochure in-house so it sits perfectly flat.

What are common brochure printing mistakes?

The usual culprits are missing bleed, artwork left in RGB, important text sitting in a fold or too close to the trim, low-resolution logos, and panels laid out in the wrong order. Our free artwork check picks these up before we print.

How do I choose a brochure printing company?

Look for a printer that offers a real proof, checks your artwork, produces in-house (so quality and timing are in their control), and can advise on stock and folds. That is exactly how we work here in Marrickville.

How much does it cost to print brochures?

Price depends on the size, stock, fold, number of sides, finish and quantity — and the per-unit cost drops as the quantity goes up. Send us your specs and we will reply with an exact quote, usually the same business day.
